Here are a list of books and videos that were helpful to me in my health and weight loss journey:

Books
Eat For Life – I have read most of Dr. Furhman’s book and I agree with him, this is the best book he has written. In it he has the all the updated scientific information and menu plans for weightloss, heart disease, cancer, diabetes and autoimmune disease.

Eat To Live – This is the first Dr. Furhman book I have read, yet it took me two years before I finally did the plantbased diet following his guideline.

Super Immunity – I read this book by Dr. Furhman in the hopes to find the cure to the skin allergy that plagued me as well as other chronic illnesses like acne, sinusitis, seasonal allergies, overall health. And it did. I also did 1 week of the 2 week plan to have an idea of portion size because this was a new world to me.

Disease Proof Your Kids – At the time when I was reading this I had a 9 year old boy who was getting bad coughs and colds and fever during the winter and seasonal allergies during the spring. Dr. Furhman’s book changed that.

How Not To Die – This book by Dr. Greger simplified plantbased eating for me. My Daily Goals List is based on his book. I also found plant equivalents to western superfoods available in the Philippines through his book.

Dr. Furhman’s 10 in 20 – I did this 2 day meal plan to reset my body after a monthlong trip to the Philippines that threw my eating off-track. I lost 8 pounds but best of all got rid of my snacking habits.

Presto – I really liked Penn Jillette because I felt he put into words our culture and obsession with eating. I also found his stories of eschewing conventions of having to eat just because he happens to be in a setting where food is usually offered (like lunch meetings), inspiring. Plus he lost an incredible 100 pounds in a 100 days.
